Who We Are
Granby Toxteth Athletic CIC
Granby Toxteth Athletic CIC (GTA) is a community-led sports organisation committed to improving mental health, wellbeing, and social inclusion through physical activity. Rooted in Toxteth, we use sport as a powerful tool to strengthen community connections, build confidence, and support positive mental health outcomes.
We currently deliver a diverse range of activities, including a walking club, football club, and basketball club, with ongoing plans to expand our provision in response to local interest and community need.
Granby Toxteth Athletic CIC remains committed to evolving and enhancing its sports and media offerings, ensuring our work continues to reflect the needs, aspirations, and spirit of the community. Through sport, storytelling, and collective participation, GTA strives to improve mental wellbeing, inspire opportunity, and strengthen community pride.
What We Do
What We Do
Football Club
Our football club operates two teams, providing a clear development pathway into the first team, with long-term ambitions to compete in the North West Counties Football League (NWCFL).
The Football club started September 2020 in the Liverpool county premier league division 3. Now in division 1 hoping to get promoted into the prem division. In 2023 we won promotion to division 1 and won the JG cup.
In 2023 the demand for people to join the club became so big we started a reserve side who had an amazing first season getting to the JG cup final and finishing 2nd place in the league.
Basketball Club
Our basketball club features two teams with structured progression to the first team, aspiring to compete at a national league level.
The basketball club started September 2022 competing in the Liverpool local league. First season reached the playoff final. Second season expanded and joined 2 leagues, reached the final of the Warrington league. Next season preparing for the MABL league.
Walking Club
Our inclusive walking club travels to various locations and welcomes participants of all fitness levels. It offers a supportive, social environment that promotes physical activity, mental wellbeing, and meaningful social interaction.
Padel
GTA is expanding into padel, delivering community-focused padel tournaments designed to introduce new audiences to the sport while encouraging active lifestyles and social engagement.
Made In Toxteth
We are developing our media and storytelling presence through our dedicated YouTube channel, Made In Toxteth, which showcases GTA vlogs, behind-the-scenes content, and The Cutz Inside Podcast.
This platform amplifies local voices, shares authentic community stories, and highlights the positive impact of sport and culture in Toxteth — with more content and projects planned for the future.
